Reader response critique : When I read the poem I feel pity about the maids in the other country because of their miserable life's and their suffering for their boss treating them like an animal.They only do this because of the family in the philippines and they work so hard just to send money so that there family have a better life and being a maid is not as easy as it seems. Maids should be honored because they are brave enough to voice out their needs,and find them.The growing number of maids should serve as a warning to the government officials.They should be alarmed about it because more maids could mean that the country couldn't provide sufficient jobs,and it's sinking deeper in the pool of poverty cheery. -James Samuel Deocampo

Reader response critique : Being an OFW is not as easy. OFWs should be honored because they are brave enough to voice out their needs, and find them. The growing number of OFWs should serve as a warning to the government officials. We can't ignore the fact the there are many OFWs working abroad as servants. This poem shows me the hardships that many of our fellow Filipinos endure by working in other countries as servants. Yes, many are mistreated and physically abused, and this is the worst discriminations. In other countries the line of work that our fellow Filipinos are seen to be degrading of one's being, for me it shows great courage, determination and love. These people are willing to endure all those maltreatment and abuse to provide their loved ones in the Philippines the necessities and desires in their lives, disregarding their own needs. When given a task on finding a restaurant that has an open kitchen, a restaurant that came immediately in our mind was the Cecilia's kitchen located at Tejero, Jagna, Bohol near our school. Based on our observation their restaurant dealing with cleanliness and contains a good place. They entertain their costumers well. They displayed different types of dishes that is affordable to buy, therefore anyone can choose what they want. We have also observed that they didn't have enough serving staff, merely a cooker and a cashier. None of those employees wearing proper attire for their job, none of them wore hair net and gloves. Some of their food taste salt and not good enough in our taste. In over all the restaurant was nice but still need  improvements in their foods and in their management.

reader response critique: The poem describes how Filipina people treated in other country. It shows hardships that many of our fellow Filipina endure by working in other countries as servants. These people left their homes and families in order to earn money that can't be earned in their own land. Their sacrifices were being misinterpreted by the foreigners and sadly think that Filipinas are maids. What they didn't understand is, Filipinas are the most compassionate and kind when it comes to taking care of the children and household. reader response critique:   This poem tells  us the about the life of OFW's in Hong Kong and their hardships working as domestic helpers.Rape,injustice,abuse and descrimination are all in the work of these maids,but in the end,the poem is a message of hope for all these workers because united in their suffering,they still manage to sacrifice themselves for their families.Stories of OFW's being abused happen so regularly that is no longer shocks us.This poem is not just a message of hope,but also a call of action for the government and the citizens to get involved.It reminds us to think about the hardships of our sisters abroad and to find solutions to alleviate their suffering.I realize that OFW's deserve moments of paradise for all the "hell" that they experienced from working.So many of them are victims of physical and sexual abuse and receive no justice from the foreign government.I realized the great sacrifice that these OFW's made.Leave their families,f...
